Karen Hickey earned a B.A. in interior design from the University of Kentucky. After acting as project manager for a high-end residential firm in Northern California, Karen and her family returned to Los Angeles where she and her husband were born and raised.
Karen is past-President of the ASID Los Angeles Chapter Board of Directors, where she served on the board from 2019-2023.
She was an active volunteer with the non-profit Nest Feathers since its beginning in 2003 and served as Director from 2005 until 2020. During that time, she used her skills to recruit over one hundred volunteers, procured thousands of dollars’ worth of furniture, finishes and accessories to furnish spaces for Prototypes, Downtown Women’s Center and Jenesse Center. In 2012, ASID Los Angeles awarded Karen with the Adele Faulkner Award for outstanding community service.
Karen and her family reside in the South Bay and has continuously completed projects throughout Southern and Northern California.
